Spilt beer

From the Forth One (radio) website:

A1 - closed at Haddington – also a broken down tankard at Torness Power Station.

and

The message, is whatever you’re route - take extreme care again this morning – if you have to go out.

Maybe the proof-reader was stuck in the snow and couldn't get to work.

  1. Holy Cow! Nothing worse than a broken down tankard. Thanks for the laugh!

  2. Personally, I have to take extreme care if I don't have to go out - all those snowbound/housebound cats lurking on the stairs playing at being broken down tankards......

  3. Those tankards are a menace. As are those misplaced apostrophes...

  4. my broken down tankard overfloweth

as for not understanding the foot post and feeling very British - the calling card for Wide World of Sports was, "The Thrill of Victory ... and the Agony of Defeat ... the Human Drama of Ahtletic Competition ... blah blah blah"

  5. The phrase "broken down tankard" fits me so perfectly I am amazed that I never thought of it myself. I was so delighted by it that I didn't go immediately to stroke level when I read the incorrect "you're." I just won't think about it. We've been out of town and I wasn't reading blogs, but of course the whole world knows about your snow. Even viewed from space! Slog on, dearie.
